No matter your agenda, Whistler's amazing patios need to be on your must-visit list. Though there are a ton dotting the village, these are the local favorites for food, drink, and fun that you need to check out on your next adventure.
Longhorn Saloon
It's an understatement to call this place a staple. It's more than that -- it's an institution; a rite of passage. Longhorn Saloon is what Whistler patios are all about. At the base of Whistler Mountain, this 275-seat patio is where you go to see and be seen. Watch the spring skiers wrap up their final run, as you sip on a Mexican Bulldog (aka a fishbowl margarita with a Corona beer overturned in it). Noon or night, this bustling patio (look for the yellow umbrellas) is the perfect place to rub shoulders with locals. Plus it gets lots of sun, so stake out a spot and enjoy those spring rays.
Garibaldi Lift Co. Bar & Grill
Overlooking the Village below from a raised patio at the base of the Whistler Village Gondola, GLC, as Garibaldi Lift Co. is known, is home to a prime patio spot, especially well-liked for apr?s. Grab a cozy patio couch, stay toasty by the fire, and order one of their flavorful and inventive Caesars (aka Canada's version of the Bloody Mary) -- favorites are garnished with a slice of bacon or beef jerky . Also, be sure to grab an order of the waffle fries, the perfect mountainside fuel.
Umbrella Bar
Opened in 2018, Umbrella Bar is truly a bar at the top of the world. Over 6,000 feet up Whistler Mountain, this beautiful bar boasts expansive vistas and true mountain top splendor. Part of the renovated Roundhouse Lodge, this viewing deck paired with a bar is truly what spring patio season is about. Take the Whistler Village Gondola to get there — accessible to skiers and sightseers alike. Bonus: The 63 seats of this bar are open year-round, so come back each season to see how the view has changed.
Cure Lounge at Nita Lake Lodge
For something a little more refined, head to Nita Lake Lodge, in Creekside, a short walk from the Creekside Gondola. Here, you'll find Cure Lounge, a lakeside spot that's as cozy as it is delicious. Find a seat on the patio, enjoy views of beautiful Nita Lake, and dig into farm-fresh dishes that reflect the area's diverse culinary landscape. If you stop by between 3-5pm, you'll be able to indulge in Nita Apr?s, where cocktails, beer, wine, and tasty snacks are on special. For a different vibe, check out Friday and Saturday evenings, when a live DJ turns our sultry beats.
Black's Pub
A classic, Black's is one of the oldest establishments in Whistler, and it's easy to see why it's been around for over 30 years. Located at the bottom of both mountains, this patio is a prime spot for good grub, cold beer, and great people watching. Plus, this patio has two levels, meaning there's lots of space for you and your crew to spread out. They also offer some music-themed nights, like karaoke, jam nights, and a blues night every Tuesday (appropriately dubbed Black's and Blues). Check out happy hour, then stay for the entertainment.
Christine's on Blackcomb
On the top of Blackcomb Mountain, you'll find Christine's on Blackcomb, home to panoramic views whether you're inside or out on the patio. Look out at the village below while you enjoy some upscale food (think cozy favorites like crispy pork belly, Albacore tuna, and a high-brow take on Tater Tots) and an extensive wine list. If you're not in a decisive mood, try a wine flight to go with your view.
